Ben Pierce began his journalism career in 2004 after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English literature from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. He has five years of experience as a journalist, editor, photographer and designer with the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, an 18,000 circulation daily newspaper in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Ben's work experience includes editing, feature writing, outdoors reporting, spot news, photography, page layout and Web design.

In addition to Ben's work with the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, he has contributed to a variety of national and regional publications. In autumn 2006, his story detailing the resignation of four esteemed bamboo fly rod builders from R.L. Winston Rod Co. in Twin Bridges, Mont., made headlines throughout the United States and abroad. A feature detailing the decisions behind the resignations appeared in Fish & Fly for the Adventure Angler.

Ben's interest in sharing his knowledge with others led to a teaching position with Montana State University's Extended Studies Program where he has worked since 2009. Ben will teach the Extended University's Adobe Photoshop Advanced, Color Printing and Web Design courses for the Spring 2010 semester.

Recognizing the evolving world of media, Ben has been involved in a number of projects dedicated to online content. He produced the stories, photography and design for The Montana 360 Project - a Web site dedicated to 360 virtual reality images showcasing the state of Montana and its people.
